Dog ate my homework.
In this case, YAHOOis the dog. The Geocities page I had used as a repository of my friends' poetry has disappeared. What with teh hard disk crash last summer, I now have irretrievably lost them. Irretrievably becasue I had editd them extensively after getting the author's original text, so even if they still remembered where to find a text copy of their version, what I had was lost.
